Falling in love....

Things are finally starting to seem like a normal school semester....well kind of. Classes started last wednesday but I only have class on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays, so after one day of class it was the weekend again! I love Rome. I'm taking a theo "overview of Christianity and Judiasm", italian 101, international business, and food and wine. Tough life right? In my food and wine class, which counts as my 400 level english and business writing course, we get to go on two wine tastings, and dinner out in the country where the chef prepares dinner with all ingredients from the local village and selects the wines to pair with it. Now if slu had this kinda of stuff, I probably wouldn't skip as many fridays. Pete and Barbara you can ignore that : )

Wednesday night we went out to a bar in Campo D' Fiori, and watched a Calcio/soccer game, and became good friends with our waitress who happened to be on our group flight coming to Rome, she recommended some places to go that were slightly less Americano. Friday after relaxing from my tiring school schedule we went to Trastevere, a piazza where the local italians go at night and had a fun time exploring that, and of course grabbing some pizza and gelato on the way to the bus at 3 in the morning. Saturday we went with the school to Villa D'este in Tivoli, which was the villa of one of the cardinals back in the 1500's, it was amazing. He was obsessed with impressing the people who traveled to see him and made a villa that rivals any place I've ever seen. The gardens were huge, with over 100 fountains everywhere. It was one of the most beautiful places I've been to yet. We woke up early today and found our way to and through the train station and went to the flea market in Trastevere where I used my pitful bargaining skills to get a new bag and sunglasses. We walked to the Jewish ghetto and finally got some kosher lunch at almost 3 in the afternoon. Sundays a wonderful day to go into the city because there's so many markets open, and random mini street festivals. Have I mentioned yet how beautiful and fun this city is??

So far I've only gotten gelato 4 times, but I plan to change that starting tomorrow. Maybe a gelato everyday? Speaking of which, it's gelato time! Ciao, love you all!

I'm back from my gelato break, I got fragola and hazelnut in case you were wondering, but my pictures of the Villa won't load, so I'll try to do that next time I can
